Why the name Clovis Outdoors?
Just like the Clovis point in our logo, our company is fairly simple and straight forward. We do our best to find great American businesses that make great American products and try to bring those products to hunters across the country. We're doing our best to find you products made in the USA, and just like the Clovis Point, they have to work well.
Why did we start the business in the first place?
We thought there was a hole in the market in which many great companies and products fall into before getting to customers. This "hole" in our mind is the barrier of entry into the big box stores. These store shelves are often dominated by large companies who make a lot of their products cheaply overseas. We thought better American small business made products deserved to be seen even if they didn't have the big name. We want to try and bridge that gap, and of course to create a business that centers around your passions really spoke to us.
Why do 10% of profits go to conservation?
Here at Clovis Outdoors we have made this deal with our customers to donate 10% of profits mainly because it seems like the right thing to do. We are grateful for every customer who comes to us and to be able to pay that forward to great causes just seems right. We believe giving back to the land is important, this helps us do that.
Where does the 10% of profits actually go?
This will vary by year, some years it may be the National Wild Turkey Foundation, some years it may be the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, it may go to hunter outreach groups who focus on getting young hunters their start in the sport. We will pick a different beneficiary each year, follow us on our social pages to keep up with your donations!
Where do you find companies to partner with?
Trade shows, social media, word of mouth. We don't care how we find them we only care that we find them. As long as the company and product meets our Criteria we're all for bringing anyone who is a good fit into the fold!
What is your Criteria for partner companies?
Company has to be based in USA, The product has to work, Company has to align with our values of conservation and preserving small business. It's not complicated but we find the best things are typically pretty simple.
